Cervical Rotation ROM
Mobility
Assesses active and passive cervical rotation.
Purpose
Screen for Cervical Rotation ROM findings.
Execution
- Sit or stand tall with shoulders relaxed
- Slightly tuck the chin
- Rotate the head to one side as far as comfortable
- Avoid shoulder elevation or trunk rotation
- Repeat on the other side and compare
Key Observations
- Normal near 80 deg each side
- Compare active vs passive
Views
Protocol
- Observe from: superior.
- Standardize start position and instructions.
- Perform 2-3 trials per side when applicable.
- Record key observations and any positive indicators.
- Compare left vs right when applicable.
