Cervical Rotation ROM

Mobility

Assesses active and passive cervical rotation.

Purpose

Screen for Cervical Rotation ROM findings.

Execution

  1. Sit or stand tall with shoulders relaxed
  2. Slightly tuck the chin
  3. Rotate the head to one side as far as comfortable
  4. Avoid shoulder elevation or trunk rotation
  5. Repeat on the other side and compare

Protocol

  1. Observe from: superior.
  2. Standardize start position and instructions.
  3. Perform 2-3 trials per side when applicable.
  4. Record key observations and any positive indicators.
  5. Compare left vs right when applicable.
