Cervical Sidebending ROM

ROM

Assessment of cervical sidebending range of motion.

Purpose

Screen for Cervical Sidebending ROM findings.

Execution

  1. Sit tall with shoulders relaxed
  2. Keep the nose and chin facing forward
  3. Side-bend the head toward the shoulder
  4. Avoid rotation or shoulder hiking
  5. Repeat on the other side

Views

Protocol

  1. Observe from: frontal.
  2. Standardize start position and instructions.
  3. Perform 2-3 trials per side when applicable.
  4. Record key observations and any positive indicators.
  5. Compare left vs right when applicable.
