Chin Tuck Test

Mobility

Assesses activation of deep cervical flexors.

Purpose

Screen for Chin Tuck findings.

Execution

  1. Sit or stand tall with the head in neutral
  2. Glide the chin straight back to make a double chin
  3. Keep eyes level and avoid head tilt
  4. Hold for 3-5 seconds
  5. Repeat for multiple reps and note control

Protocol

  1. Observe from: lateral.
  2. Standardize start position and instructions.
  3. Perform 2-3 trials per side when applicable.
  4. Record key observations and any positive indicators.
  5. Compare left vs right when applicable.
