Movement Screen
Squat assessment with anterior load to observe movement compensations.
Purpose
Screen for squat mechanics with an anterior load.
Execution
- Hold a light kettlebell or dumbbell at the chest
- Stand with feet shoulder-width apart
- Squat to depth with a controlled tempo
- Observe knee tracking, trunk angle, and foot stability
- Repeat 3-5 reps

- Depth
- Knee alignment
- Torso vertical
- Heels on the floor
Views
Protocol
- Observe from: frontal, lateral.
- Standardize start position and instructions.
- Perform 2-3 trials per side when applicable.
- Record key observations and any positive indicators.
- Compare left vs right when applicable.
