Lat Length Test

Flexibility

Assesses latissimus dorsi length.

Purpose

Screen for Lat Length findings.

Execution

  1. Lie supine with knees bent and low back neutral
  2. Raise both arms overhead toward the floor
  3. Keep ribs down and avoid lumbar extension
  4. Observe whether the arms reach the floor
  5. Compare sides if tested separately

Protocol

  1. Observe from: supine, lateral.
  2. Standardize start position and instructions.
  3. Perform 2-3 trials per side when applicable.
  4. Record key observations and any positive indicators.
  5. Compare left vs right when applicable.
