Lat Length Test
Flexibility
Assesses latissimus dorsi length.
Purpose
Screen for Lat Length findings.
Execution
- Lie supine with knees bent and low back neutral
- Raise both arms overhead toward the floor
- Keep ribs down and avoid lumbar extension
- Observe whether the arms reach the floor
- Compare sides if tested separately
Key Observations
- Inability to reach overhead
- Compensatory lumbar arch
Views
Protocol
- Observe from: supine, lateral.
- Standardize start position and instructions.
- Perform 2-3 trials per side when applicable.
- Record key observations and any positive indicators.
- Compare left vs right when applicable.
