Posture
Global standing postural scan to identify alignment deviations.
Purpose
Screen for postural alignment deviations.
Execution
- Have the client stand relaxed and barefoot
- Assess from the sagittal view first
- Assess from the frontal and posterior views
- Note head, shoulder, spine, pelvic, knee, and foot alignment
- Document asymmetries and deviations
Key Observations
- Head and shoulder alignment
- Spine curves (thoracic and lumbar)
- Pelvic position and symmetry
- Knee and foot alignment
Views
Protocol
- Observe from: frontal, lateral, posterior.
- Standardize start position and instructions.
- Perform 2-3 trials per side when applicable.
- Record key observations and any positive indicators.
- Compare left vs right when applicable.
