Single Leg Heel Raise Test

Strength

Assesses gastrocnemius-soleus strength and endurance.

Purpose

Screen for Single Leg Heel Raise findings.

Execution

  1. Stand on one leg near support
  2. Rise onto the ball of the foot with full plantarflexion
  3. Lower under control and repeat to fatigue
  4. Count total reps or time
  5. Compare sides

Protocol

  1. Observe from: posterior.
  2. Standardize start position and instructions.
  3. Perform 2-3 trials per side when applicable.
  4. Record key observations and any positive indicators.
  5. Compare left vs right when applicable.
