Strength
Assesses gastrocnemius-soleus strength and endurance.
Purpose
Screen for Single Leg Heel Raise findings.
Execution
- Stand on one leg near support
- Rise onto the ball of the foot with full plantarflexion
- Lower under control and repeat to fatigue
- Count total reps or time
- Compare sides
Key Observations
- Normal >25 repetitions
- Pain or weakness suggests pathology
Views
Protocol
- Observe from: posterior.
- Standardize start position and instructions.
- Perform 2-3 trials per side when applicable.
- Record key observations and any positive indicators.
- Compare left vs right when applicable.
