Single-leg squat assessment for dynamic knee and hip control.
Purpose
Screen for Single Leg Squat findings.
Execution
- Stand on one leg with the other leg forward
- Perform a controlled squat to a comfortable depth
- Keep the knee tracking over the foot
- Observe pelvis and trunk stability
- Compare sides
Key Observations
- Valgus angle >10 deg indicates a significant deficit
- Pelvic drop (Trendelenburg)
- Trunk control
Views
Protocol
- Observe from: frontal.
- Standardize start position and instructions.
- Perform 2-3 trials per side when applicable.
- Record key observations and any positive indicators.
- Compare left vs right when applicable.
