Slump Test

Special Test

Assesses neural tension.

Purpose

Screen for Slump findings.

Execution

  1. Sit upright on the edge of a table
  2. Slump the spine and flex the neck
  3. Extend the knee and dorsiflex the ankle
  4. Observe symptom reproduction or relief with head position
  5. Repeat on the other side

Protocol

  1. Observe from: lateral.
  2. Standardize start position and instructions.
  3. Perform 2-3 trials per side when applicable.
  4. Record key observations and any positive indicators.
  5. Compare left vs right when applicable.
