Corrective exercise calf release with a lacrosse ball.
Execution
- Seated with calf on the ball
- Cross the other leg to add pressure
- Roll from Achilles to knee
- Pause on tender spots
Cues
- Rotate to cover medial and lateral calf
- Move the ankle over tender points
- Tolerable pressure
Common Errors
- Missing parts of the calf
- Too little pressure
- Rushing
Progressions
- Light pressure -> Firm pressure -> Longer duration -> Add ankle pumps
