lower leg exercises Posterior tibialis, gastrocnemius, soleus
Single-leg calf strength exercise; also a functional test for posterior tibialis.
Execution
- Stand on one leg (light wall support if needed)
- Rise onto the ball of the foot
- Lower under control (eccentric focus)
- 3 sets x 15-25 reps
- If you cannot reach 25, weakness is likely
Cues
- Reach full height
- Keep the ankle aligned
- Control the lowering phase
Common Errors
- Partial height
- Pronation during the lift
- Excess hand support
