Terminal Knee Extension (TKE)

Closed-chain quad activation drill emphasizing the VMO. Common in knee rehab and patellofemoral pain.
Execution
- Band behind the knee, anchored in front at knee height
- Start with slight knee bend, extend fully against the band
- Squeeze the quad at full extension
- 3 sets x 15-20 reps
Cues
- Finish with full extension
- Squeeze at the top
- Avoid hyperextension

- Not reaching full extension
- Knee valgus
- Hip compensation
